Accessibility: at the hotel, and on this site
Two separate things live on this page: what the hotel and theatre say about access, and what we have done to make this website usable.
At The Star
- Parking: disabled parking bays are located close to the car park entrance lobbies and individually marked.
- Restrooms: all restrooms at The Star are described as offering easy access for guests with special needs and disabilities.
- Hotel rooms: The Star asks guests to contact Reservations for information on hotel rooms and apartments that cater for special needs, and to mention any requirements when booking. It does not publish a list of accessible room types.
- Theatre: the Sydney Lyric is described as wheelchair and hearing-impaired friendly; for alternative arrangements, call theatre bookings on +61 2 9509 3600.
- Arrival at the theatre side: the Lyric recommends The Star Car Park for accessible parking (about five minutes' walk, with ramp access) and a drop-off zone at the Harbourside entrance on Pirrama Road, with lift or escalator access.
By day
In the daytime, the light rail is the most direct public transport: The Star stop is underneath the complex.
If you are sending a request through us, describe what you need in the notes, and we will ask the hotel specific questions rather than general ones.
By night
In the evening, plan the route from the theatre to the hotel before the show, while the box office is open.
Under-16s are not permitted in The Darling Spa and its gym; at the Star Grand pool they must be with an adult.
On this website
- Text is real text, not images, and can be resized without breaking the layout.
- Every image has a text description; illustrations are labelled as such.
- Pages use one main heading and a logical heading order, with a 'skip to content' link.
- The form fields have visible labels, and the form can be completed with a keyboard.
- Animations are switched off if your device asks for reduced motion.
