Privacy
Privacy: what we collect and what we do with it
Short version: no cookies, no trackers, and the only personal information we receive is what you type into the request form.
What we collect
When you send the form, we receive your name, email address, phone number if you give one, your dates, the number of guests, the room you have in mind, the reason for your trip, your notes, and the page you sent it from. Our server also records the technical details of the request (IP address and browser type) to stop abuse.
Why
Only to answer your request: to check availability and rates for you with the hotel's reservations team or a booking partner, and to write back. We do not send newsletters or marketing, and we do not sell or rent your details.
Who sees it
- Our booking desk.
- The hotel or the booking partner we contact about your dates, and only the details they need to answer.
- Our hosting provider, DigitalOcean (server in Sydney), and Cloudflare, which carries the traffic, as service providers.
Cookies and tracking
This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics, tag managers or advertising pixels. Fonts and images are served from our own server.
Maps from Google
Some pages contain a Google map. On the front page the map only loads if you press 'Show the map'. On the getting-here page it is embedded and loads when you scroll to it. When it loads, your browser connects to Google, which receives your IP address and may set its own cookies under Google's privacy policy. Links that open Google Maps in a new tab work the same way once you click them.
By day
During the day your request sits in our inbox while we work on it.
We keep it for as long as we need to answer it and follow up the stay, then we delete it, or sooner if you ask.
By night
Nothing happens to your details at night that does not happen in the day: no automated profiling, no resale.
If you change your mind after sending, write and we will delete the request.
Your rights
We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. You can ask to see the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by writing to hello@pyrmontbaystays.com. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
