The Level 5 pool, the gym, and the spa next door
The hotel's leisure floor is Level 5: a heated pool with a harbour view and a gym, both open from 6am to 9pm. For treatments, you walk across to The Darling Spa.

By day
At 6am the pool is the quietest place in the complex, and the light on the water is the point of being up so early.
Under-16s can swim with an adult, so a family morning in the water before the fish market works.
By night
By the time it closes at 9pm, the city lights are on across the water. An evening swim between dinner and a late show is possible on most nights.
If you want water later than 9pm, nothing in the hotel offers it; plan around the hours.
The gym
The gym shares the pool's hours and floor. The hotel lists Technogym ARTIS equipment, both cardio machines and pin-loaded weights, plus UNITY screens for personalised training. Gym guests get complimentary bottled water, and staff will give you a tour if you ask. The residences page calls the same facility Turbines Health Club.
The Darling Spa
The Star Grand has no spa of its own. The Darling Spa, on Level 2 of The Darling hotel in the same complex, welcomes in-house hotel guests, Star Club members and the public. It has 11 treatment rooms, two couples suites, a relaxation lounge, a steam room and a Jacuzzi, and lists the award Best Health Spa & Wellness Experience at the Australian Accommodation Awards 2025.

If you plan to use the spa's wet areas, arrive at least an hour before your treatment and bring swimwear; robes, towels and slippers are provided. Hotel guests can charge treatments to their room.
