Star Suites: a lounge room and 24-hour room service
The Star Suites are described differently from the rest of the hotel. There is no 'newly designed' label, and the feature list reads like an older brochure. Here it is, unedited, with our notes.
According to the hotel, you 'melt into the sofa' in a separate lounge room with a big-screen LCD. The list of inclusions is long and mostly practical.
- High-speed internet access
- iPod docking station
- Comfortable work station or desk
- 24-hour room service
- FOXTEL and in-house movies
- Individually controlled air-conditioning and heating
- International direct-dial phone and personalised voice mail
- In-room safe, tea and coffee making, hair dryer
By day
The work desk and the separate lounge make the Star Suite a sensible choice for a working trip: calls in one room, sleep in the other.
Room service runs all day, which is useful if your meetings spill over lunch.
By night
At night the point is the 24-hour room service. After a late show, you can eat in your own lounge instead of joining the queue downstairs.
The suite does not mention a bath. If one matters, the Premium Suite lists a tub.
How it compares
Against the Premium Suite, the Star Suite gives you a similar split between bedroom and lounge, but the Premium Suite's description is newer and lists a bath, a powder room and a wet bar. If you are unsure which to ask for, choose 'Not sure yet, advise me' in the form and tell us what matters; our desk will compare the two rates for the same dates.
