The house rules, and the fees behind them
None of this is exciting, which is exactly why it catches people out. These are the published rules for The Star Grand Hotel and Residences as of 1 November 2026.
Arriving and leaving

- Check in at reception anyway; the hotel holds your bags until the room is ready

- Not standard; included in some packages at 12pm

By day
Landing on a morning flight? You can drop your bags at reception and spend the day out, rather than waiting in the lobby for 3pm.
The lobby itself has G&Tea, which serves breakfast until 3pm.
By night
Checking out after a late night? 11am comes quickly. If you know you will be at a show the night before, ask for a package with a 12pm check-out.
Express check-out means you can leave without queuing at the desk.
Beds for extra people
Rollaway beds are $80 per night, one per room or suite at most. Cots are available. Both are subject to availability, and the hotel asks you to book them in advance.
Smoking
The Star Grand and the Residences have been 100% smoke free since 1 September 2022. That includes balconies. If staff find evidence of smoking, the cleaning fee is $350 for standard King and Twin rooms and $550 for suites, residences and penthouses. Designated smoking areas are outside the premises.
Pets
Pets are not allowed at The Star Grand Hotel or The Star Grand Residences.
The no-party policy
The hotel states plainly that it has a no-party policy and asks guests not to disturb others. Bigger suites are made for entertaining a few friends, not for a party. If you are celebrating with a group, the complex has private dining and celebration spaces designed for it.

Getting into the casino as a hotel guest
Staying at the hotel does not change the casino rules: entry is 18+ with proof of age if asked, there is a dress standard, and the hotel warns that all guests may face delays at the casino entrance at peak times. See our neutral casino page.
