Light rail to the new fish market, and which stop to use
The hotel's own page still says the fish market is about ten minutes away. Since January 2026 the market has been in a new building on Blackwattle Bay. Here is how the trip works now.

The new Sydney Fish Market officially opened on Monday 19 January 2026. Infrastructure NSW lists it as a completed project, designed by 3XN/GXN with BVN and Aspect Studios, and managed by Sydney Fish Market Pty Ltd and Placemaking NSW. Its address is 1 Bridge Road, Glebe, on the water's edge at Blackwattle Bay.
The ride
The L1 Dulwich Hill line stops at The Star, directly under the complex. The market names three stops for its visitors: Wentworth Park, 400 metres away; Glebe, 450 metres; and Bank Street, 700 metres. According to the market, services run every 6 to 10 minutes on weekdays and every 10 to 15 minutes on weekends and in the evenings.
By day
Go early. The market opens at 7am every day, and the morning is when the seafood counters look their best.
From The Star stop it is a short ride; you will be back by the time the pool gets busy.
By night
The market is open until 10pm, so it also works as a casual dinner, especially on a night without a show.
Evening trams run less often, every 10 to 15 minutes, so allow a little time.
If you would rather drive or walk
The market has parking, with a weekday arrangement of free entry after 3pm if you exit by 5pm, according to its website. Buses 389 and 501 stop on Harris Street, 550 metres from the entrance. The building's promenade connects to the 15-kilometre foreshore walk, so a return on foot along the water is possible. Route from the hotel on public transport · on foot.
What changed for hotel guests
Mainly the direction. The hotel's description, 'only ten minutes from anywhere within the CBD including the Sydney Fish Markets', still reads naturally; just make sure the map you follow shows the new address, 1 Bridge Road, Glebe.
